One could say there's Backblaze – which offers Unlimited storage – but they've been known to be a lot more hit-or-miss over the years.īut today they canceled my account without any notice because I had turned auto-payment off. If you're looking for lots of storage, I've never found another company that's really come close to competing with iDrive on price. It's a backup solution, that happens to also offer a syncing solution (like other "popular" cloud services).Īt the same time though, you're barely paying anything for iDrive, so it of course doesn't really make much sense for someone to expect $120 - $200+ / year solutions when they're barely charging you $6.95 for the year (via promo), or $52.12 / year normally. It doesn't, and honestly never promised, every feature under the sun - yet it does certainly still have useful features. IDrive functions and gets the job it sets out to accomplish, though. The respective company scales are simply completely incomparable. ¯¯¯¯¯ That said, the biggest difference between iDrive and Google Drive (or Google One) is of course going to be the gigantic difference in development budget. When I clicked "Restore Now" it created the "iDrive Test Folder" folder exactly where I told it to (I also tested restoring it to the original location, and it got that correct as well) Here's a picture of it - you simply select whatever folders you want to restore, and click "Restore Now"

I just re-downloaded their desktop app real quick and it was literally right there – immediately saw it under "Restore" I know because I just double-checked it myself, and did it. You can even tell it to restore them back to their original location.

You can definitely download whole folders - you can even redownload multiple entire folders, to wherever you want.

I'm not sure where the "can't download whole folder" thing came from but I saw another user on here report it for some reason - whoever has said that though, I don't think they even actually used the software, lol.
